The course’s importance

International Project Management Association (IPMA) is the most prestigious project management association globally, and its mission is to disseminate knowledge about project management. More than 70 countries are officially members of this association. Amsterdam is the current headquarters of the association, which has been in operation since 1965. Its services are aimed at project-oriented companies along three pillars:

1. Organization
2. Project
3. Individuals
To this end, this association complies standards for each of these pillars and updates them in relevant courses. According to the fourth edition of the ICB standard currently available, certificates are issued into four levels: A, B, C, and D.

Assistant Project Manager (Level D) candidates must have at least a university degree (Associate’s degree) and one year’s experience in a related field. There are other requirements for applicants at this level, such as willingness and the ability to apply any of the project management competency factors according to the ICB standard, experience working in some areas of project management as an expert, and general knowledge of project management and the ability to apply it. The Individual Competency Basis (ICB), published by the International Project Management Association, is a worldwide standard of competencies to be acquired by individuals in project management, design, and portfolio management.
This standard promotes individual competency development by providing a list of competency components in all projects, plans, and portfolios.
With the publication of the ICB, International Project Management Institute is endeavoring to achieve just one simple goal: To enhance and improve competency in project management, project design, and portfolio, as well as a set of competencies that, when thoroughly understood, demonstrate complete mastery in these management fields. Plans, projects, and portfolios are leading the way in today’s world. Creating a new product and service, investing and developing, building capacity, implementing new strategies, and building new infrastructure are all the things that projects accomplish.
